The Ford Explorer is a competitive midsize SUV with three comfortable rows of seats. The Explorer recently received a design refresh in 2020, which means that it doesn't have too many changes for 2021 except for some adjustments to standard and optional features by trim. The XLT trim can also now be adorned with a new Sport package to give it a more athletic look. Aside from the fact that it has plenty of power and a large, luxurious interior, one feature that makes the Ford Explorer stand out is its unique unibody construction that enhances its durability. Also notable for the Explorer in 2021 is the fact that it returns to rear-wheel drive as the standard drivetrain. All-wheel drive is available.
